We’re Andrea and Francesca – a mother-daughter duo living with coeliac disease in Budapest.
Andrea was born and raised in Hungary before spending 15 years in the United States. Francesca was born in the USA, in Florida. Later the family moved to the south of France, staying for 4 years before returning to Budapest, Andrea’s hometown.
Together, our family spent years travelling the world, discovering new cultures, cuisines and unforgettable destinations.
But every trip came with the same challenge.
Living with coeliac disease meant that exploring a new city often started with hours of research. Instead of simply enjoying the experience, we found ourselves searching for safe restaurants, contacting cafés in advance, reading countless reviews, and worrying about where our next meal would come from.
We knew there had to be a better way. That’s why we created Gluten Free Budapest.
Our goal is simple: to help visitors experience the very best of Budapest without the stress of finding safe gluten-free food. We’ve done the research, built relationships with trusted local businesses, and designed experiences where you can focus on enjoying the city—while we take care of the gluten-free part. Because travel should be about creating memories, not worrying about your next meal.
